Practical Strategies specializes in strategic planning, program design, technical assistance, training, and evaluation. Through a focus on health justice and harm reduction, Practical Strategies works with community-based organizations to craft and implement practical solutions to complex problems.

Organizations must be flexible and strategic to meet the changing needs of a community, but many of them don’t have the time or resources to invest in building responsive systems, resulting in inefficient and outdated services. Many other organizations lack the experience needed to know how to achieve their vision. Practical Strategies works with clients to develop customized solutions that help them stay meaningfully connected to the communities they serve while also building their internal capabilities.

Practical Strategies engages voices from the community as well as staff at all levels to ensure that plans are timely, realistic, and make a tangible impact on the ground. With a long history of amplifying the voices of the unheard and underserved, Practical Strategies helps organizations improve their services and lay the foundation for a future where everyone has equitable access to quality mental and physical health services
WHAT PEOPLE SAY
Meghan Hynes of Practical Strategies has the unique ability to make hard work a pleasurable experience. She recently hosted a retreat for our board and leadership team where she expertly guided us through a process that included the "Theory of Change". She used tools that made the process easier to conceptualize, including ongoing access to a program that now stores some of our biggest priorities and guiding principles. Some of our team members have a challenging time with focus. Meghan was prepared for that with art projects, tools for visual learners, and tactile objects to play with to help maintain focus. I would hope that we can continue to build on what we created as a team, to help guide our work.
